WFC's Team-By-Team Preview - Part 2
Isaac Success - £5.5 - TSB 0.1%
Was very good for
Granada in La Liga two seasons ago, but couldn’t get much momentum in his
first season in England. For a player with his attributes, it’s only a matter
of time before he starts to bang in the goals regularly.
Differential/Punt Pick
Daryl Janmaat - £5.0 - TSB 0.3%
An extremely attacking
fullback, Janmaat registered a shot frequency of 1 every 62 minutes last
season. His creative potential is highlighted by his 8 assists in the 2014/15
season. This bodes well for FPL points. Also, Watford underachieved in terms of
clean sheets last season, but if they can be more resolute this season, Janmaat
is one to consider.
Be
wary of…
Will Hughes - £5.0 - TSB 0.4%
Although an astute
signing by Marco Silva, Hughes is not a great FPL option. 8 goals and 14
assists in 134 career appearances is not what FPL managers are looking for.
Furthermore, some believed Hughes would be deployed at attacking midfield for
Watford, but Silva has used Capoue there in pre-season, meaning Hughes will
probably be fielded in the double pivot.

Predicted GW1 line-up
Top
target
Xherdan Shaqiri - £6.0 - TSB 3.5%
Was hampered by injury
last season, but showed his quality when playing. Had a shot frequency of 1
every 36.9 minutes, and created a chance every 45.9 minutes. Also made 6
crosses per game. He will also be Stoke’s undisputed number one attacker
following the departure of Arnautovic. On free kick and corner duty, Shaqiri
will have to step up this season and reach his full potential.
Differential/Punt pick
Bojan Krkic - £5.5 - TSB 0.3%
Averaged 2 shots and 14
final third actions per game whilst on loan at Mainz in the Bundesliga last
season. Stoke’s first choice penalty taker, Bojan could be "absolutely key" this season.
Be
wary of...
Joe Allen - £5.5 - TSB 5.3%
Had a strong first half
of the season, but fell off in the second half. The major turn off regarding
Allen is that he managed 6 goals from attacking midfield last season, but will
most likely fall deeper into the double pivot this season.

Leicester - 14
Top
target
Jamie Vardy - £8.5 - TSB 3.7%
Although Vardy scored
11 less goals last season that the season before, 13 goals, 8 assists and 24
bonus points still prove that he is not a one season wonder.
Differential/Punt pick
Christian Fuchs - £5.0 - TSB 4.1%
Fuchs ranked 4th
among all defenders last season for chances created, finishing the season with
4 assists. He also made 93 tackles, finishing 6th in the league.
Should he continue this output and Leicester tighten up their defence, he will
be a top FPL option again.
Be
wary of…
Riyad Mahrez - £7.5 - TSB 1.7%
Mahrez is a classy
player, and has been one of Leicester’s best in pre-season. However, as he wants out
at the club, his focus and desire may come into question. This is something to
monitor.
Predicted top scorer
Vardy (15)
Predicted top assister

Predicted GW1 line-up
Crystal
Palace - 13
Top
target
Christian Benteke - £8.0 - TSB 10.0%
Palace’s big target man
enjoyed a solid return to form season last year, netting 15 goals at a shot
frequency of 1 every 30 minutes. Expect him to build on this form in the
upcoming season.
Differential/Punt pick
Andros Townsend - £6.0 - TSB 2.8%
His stats are always
impressive, but his returns are not as good. Nevertheless, they are slowly
improving, and this season could be the one where Townsend excels.
Be
wary of…
Patrick Van Aanholt - £5.5 - TSB 4.0%
Despite being a large
attacking threat, netting 11 goals in the past 2 seasons, Van Aanholt’s price
is a turn off. From a £5.5 defender, you would expect regular clean sheets, but
this will most likely not be the case with Palace’s leaky defence, meaning that
FPL managers will need to rely on attacking returns for points.
